May 4, 2016 - e2v, a leading provider of innovative technology for high performance systems and equipment, announced today that its Onyx CMOS image sensor was awarded Gold by the judges of the annual Vision Systems Design Innovators Awards program. The judging panel consisted of esteemed experts from system integrator and end-user companies.
e2v was honored with a Gold award for the Onyx 1.3MP high speed CMOS image sensor, which allows discernible images to be produced at extremely low light levels and through diffusing environments (e.g. fog and smoke) by range-gating, ideal for use in Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) and security cameras. The high speed CMOS device features include an embedded active imaging system which synchronises external illumination and internal electronic shuttering.
Gareth Powell, CMOS Sensors Marketing Manager at e2v, comments, “We are very proud to receive recognition for our innovative CMOS capabilities that make our sensors stand out from the crowd. Our heritage and expertise in imaging technology enables us to differentiate our products with unique features and functions that our customers can exploit to add real value to their end products.”
Alan Bergstein, publisher of Vision Systems Design, said, “This prestigious programme allows Vision Systems Design to celebrate and recognise the most innovative products and services in the vision and image processing industry. Our 2016 Honourees are an outstanding example of companies who are making an impact in the industry.”
